I’ll be the first to preach to you about putting yourself first. About taking care of yourself. About being okay and surviving through anything life throws at you. I’ll be the first to tell you everything will be okay and that you will be okay. I just want everyone to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It might be hard to see in the darkest hour, but the light is there.
With that being said, it’s okay to not be okay all the time. We all have demons we are battling and sometimes we’re not okay. Sometimes the depression creeps up on us. Sometimes the anxiety takes over. Sometimes despite your best efforts you’re just not okay. You don’t have to be okay all the time. You are allowed to have breakdowns. You are allowed to cry, scream, hide in your bed, whatever helps you in that moment. You are allowed to not be okay. No one expects you to be okay all the time and you shouldn’t expect that from yourself either.
Life is hard and many of us face battles and demons others will never understand. Take the time to not be okay when you’re in a funk, just don’t live there. Pick yourself back up when you’re done. Reach out to friends or family for help if you need to. You don’t have to go through the tough stuff in life alone. You have people in your life to help you fight your battles and slay those demons. Sometimes things can’t be faced alone and that’s okay too. Ask for help when you need it.
It’s okay to not be okay. Stop being so hard on yourself because you’re not okay sometimes. We’re only human. We’re not meant to be okay all the time. But please always remember you will be okay again and there is a light at the end of the tunnel that shines brighter than you’ll ever know. We all have good days, bad days, dark days, and light days. Push through them and know you’re okay and you’ll be okay, but it’s okay to not be okay now. Take time for you, whatever that may look like. It’s okay to not be okay so stop being mad at yourself because you’re not okay.
