Parents are great. They have the uncanny ability to multitask like a mad man, run on very little sleep, and pretty much do it all all the time. They’re great. Utilizing their superpowers for good, sometimes evil if you count sneaking a snack without the kids noticing evil.
It seems as though moms have more superpowers. I’ll chalk that up to our motherly instinct to take care of anyone, which in turn means we take on more. It’s our ‘I’ll do it myself’ mentality. The greatest of all superpowers though has been given to dads. You know the one I’m talking about. The ability to fall asleep instantaneously just about anywhere. They sit on the couch and they’re asleep, usually snoring and claiming they only closed their eyes for a minute. ‘I wasn’t sleeping, just resting my eyes.’

It almost seems unfair doesn’t it? That dads have the ability to fall asleep almost instantaneously just about anywhere. Meanwhile moms are worried they weren’t patient enough with the kids today or they weren’t a good enough mom or they never got to that thing they needed to do. At least moms are good at running at 110% on very little to no sleep. Could be worse.
Whatever the reason dads were given the sleeping superpower, parents are amazing. They give so much of themselves to their kids to raise amazing human beings. Never forget that what you do as a parent is enough, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
