Ah what a wild year it’s been. Yesterday marked the anniversary of my first year. 365 days of taking my vision, bringing it to life, and defining what exactly I wanted from this. Let’s take a look back at the last year.
Accomplishments. I had originally planned to list some accomplishments that I am proud of, but who am I kidding everything is an accomplishment. It’s the first year and we started from nothing. Every new follower is an accomplishment. Every new blog published is a new accomplishment. Every new day I get up and keep pushing to achieve the goals I set for Sassy Mamaroo is a new accomplishment. I can’t break down my accomplishments to celebrate when there’s been so many incredible accomplishments this year and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish this year.
What I learned. When I first started this blog, I had no idea what I was doing, but I was in it 100%. I learned a lot along the way. Blogging isn’t easy. It takes a lot of time planning, preparing, writing, rewriting, researching, and even choosing what to write about. A lot of what I write is relevant to my life – what we’re going through or dealing with, lessons I learned as a mom, you know whatever is happening in the moment. I never intended this blog to be so personal, but that’s the thing with blogging – your life affects what you write. I learned you don’t necessarily need to write a certain amount of blogs or write about anything you, it just needs to be good. Shoot I’m not good at blogging, but it’s not stopping me. I learned a lot and I still have a lot to learn and I can’t wait to see what this year brings.
Favorite thing about blogging. My favorite thing about blogging is hands down the fact I can write whatever I want. This blog is mine to do as I please with it. When I started I wanted to have a safe place for mothers and women to share their stories, have someone to talk to, and relate to what others are going through so they know they’re not alone. It has become so much more for me though. I get excited to share my blogs and other content on our social media. To share my life so others can relate and not feel so alone. I know not everything I write is relatable to everyone, but those reaching out relating and thanking me make it all worth it. So my favorite thing is that this is mine and everything accomplished is because of me and all the hard work I put into it.
What’s coming the 2nd year. Honestly I haven’t put too much thought into what I have planned for the second year. There were many points I wasn’t sure I’d survive the first year. I just roll with it and see what life throws at me. I’ll probably continue to share my life and educate in areas related to motherhood and women’s health. When I started I didn’t intend to share so much of my life, but I’ve become an open book. Sharing everything about my life is the best way to relate to other people, mothers, and women. I have no idea what this year will bring for me personally or with Sassy Mamaroo, but I’m excited to see what happens.
Thank you. I saved the best part for last. I want to say thank you to the many of you that have been on this journey with me even though you all deserve so much more than a thank you. Thank you to everyone that’s taken the time to read a blog. Thank you to everyone that’s followed here or across any of our social media sites. Thank you to everyone that’s shared a blog to anyone or a social media site. Thank you to everyone that has purchased merchandise from our shop. Thank you to everyone that’s liked or commented on a blog or social media post. Thank you to everyone that’s interviewed, shared a story, or submitted a blog for me to share. Thank you to everyone that made this possible and a special thanks to those behind the scenes motivating me to keep going. I can never thank any of you enough for the love and support you’ve shown over the last year. I appreciate you all so much.
I’m a nobody from a little town in Oregon that had an idea and brought it to life. I’ve written 62 blogs, created something that’s become more than just a blog, and watched people from all over the world join me on this journey. I’m so appreciative of all the love and support and I can’t wait to see what this year brings.
