A Letter To My Mama

Let me tell you a little about my mama. She’s the strongest woman I know for the way she carries herself, the way she’s been through hell and back, the way she loves, and the way life can’t bring her down. She was a single mama of 3 kids close in age. She worked her her ass off to give us anything and everything she could and she still does. She went through hell and back and came out on the other side stronger because of it. She’s a true inspiration. My mama is a hardworking, determined, ambitious, talented, caring, loving, selfless woman, and she’s my role model. This one’s for you mama….

Dear Mama,

Honestly I’ve tried to write this at least a hundred times. I don’t know where to start. I mean what do you say to the woman that deserves the world? I may not be able to give you the world, but hopefully I can give you this – A letter that tells you everything I need you to know. It’s hard to make sure I say everything when I have so much to say, but here goes…

You are my role model. You inspire me to work harder. You inspire me to always be the best version of me I can be. You inspire me to never give up and to always push through the tough stuff. You inspire me to be a better person. You motivate me to pursue my dreams with no regrets. You encourage me to see the good in everyday, even on the bad days. You are strong and you radiate such a strong energy that it makes me want to be strong too. Stronger for me. Stronger for my kids. Stronger because I need to keep going. I couldn’t ask for a better role model.

Because of you I am the woman and mother I am today. Because of you I am strong. I am ambitious. I am determined. I am motivated. I am a fighter. Because of you I strive to be a better person. I strive to never give up. I strive to always do my best in every aspect of life. I strive to accomplish anything I put my mind to. I strive to make you proud. Because of you and all the motivation you’ve given me over the years I am who I am. I love me and who I am because of you.

Thank you for everything. For always being there. For always motivating me. For always empowering me. For always supporting me. For always pushing me. For always encouraging me. For always making me try harder. For always making me do my best. Thank you for being in the crowd cheering for me at track meets, dance competitions, and graduations. Thank you for never giving up on me. For never letting me quit. For never letting me doubt myself. For never letting me forget who I am. Thank you for all the help over the years. For all the advice. For babysitting my kids. For always answering my calls. For all the laughs. For everything you do and have done for me and my family. Thank you for always loving me on the good and bad days and everything in between. Thank you for being you.

Life may not have been easy for you, but you gave us everything. You never stopped loving, caring, and giving. You never walked away when times were hard. You hunkered down, said bring it on, and pushed through. You are an amazing woman and mother. You are an inspiration of the woman and mother I hope to be someday. I can never thank you enough for all you’ve done or do. Never change. I love you with all my heart and my whole being. I will make you proud of me.

Love You, Your Child.
