Today was a bad day. Today life came crashing down on you. Today you yelled at your kids. Today you feel like a bad mom. Today you laughed, cried, yelled, got angry. Today you overreacted. Today you felt defeated and out of control. Today was not your day. But today is just that – today. Just one small day of so many days, weeks, months, years where you get a new start. A new day to do and be better.
Life can be frustrating. Always full of ups and downs, highs and lows. You had a bad day. So what! We all have bad days. We all have days where we yell at our kids. Days where we overreact. Days where life just feels like too much. Days where we feel like we’re failing. IT’S OKAY! It’s all a part of life and motherhood. Today is just one day of so many days. You are a badass woman that’s been strong for too long. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to yell. It’s okay to overreact. It’s okay to be defeated. It’s okay to have a bad day. Everything is going to be okay.
Tomorrow is a new day. Tomorrow is a new chance to start fresh. Tomorrow you will laugh. Tomorrow you will watch your kids giggle and play with their toys. Tomorrow you will make new memories. Tomorrow your kids will look at you with that precious smile that melts your heart and you will know they’ll be okay. Tomorrow your kids won’t remember you yelled. Tomorrow your kids will love you more than the day before. Tomorrow you will do better. Tomorrow you will be better. Tomorrow you will be the best mom you can be because tomorrow is a new day.
You are allowed to have bad days. You are allowed to get overwhelmed. You are allowed to get defeated. You are allowed to fail. What you aren’t allowed to do is dwell on the bad days, especially when the good days outweigh the bad days by a long shot. Motherhood is all about living, learning, failing, and always doing your best. If doing your best is failing one day and doing better the next, embrace it and learn from it. Tomorrow is a new day. You will get up, have a good day, and be the best mom you can be. You live and you learn. Deal with it. Suck it up and do better. You are not failing. No one’s perfect, not even Susan with her flawless makeup bright and early in the student drop off. So don’t let the guilt eat you alive and go be the badass mama you know you can be.
