I’ll keep this short. I’ve been asked a few times how we chose our name, what it means, or what it stands for. At first I never really thought much about it. When it came to choosing a name for this blog and our page I wanted something that stood out (at least to me) and something that wasn’t already being used. Google after Google search turned up with all the best names being used already. Dang it! Of course they were though, that was to be expected.
I knew no matter what if possible I wanted to use Sassy. I didn’t know where or how, I just knew I had to. It’s an ode to my daughter. She’s the definition of sassy and throws sass at anyone and everyone. The Mama is for me, but also because it’s a blog full of motherhood moments, stories, and I knew what I had envisioned and knew it would be perfect.
The Roo is something I’ve added onto words. Honestly I have no idea why or how it even started. I’ve just done it. Meh. My son was always called bubbaroo and my daughter was called sissyroo. Gosh I’m so lame. I have no idea why I called them that or where it came from, it just stuck. Eventually they were just shortened to bub and sis.
So that’s the story or how we got our name. Something that seemingly came to mind randomly and didn’t pop up on Google became our name. Realizing now the name is very meaningful to me. It’s something I hope to continue doing. The vision keeps growing and getting better everyday. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
